Recently our M.D. Barry Thompson, some amazing #teamlink members and friends took part in a Way of the Roses bike ride. Going coast to coast to help fundraise for our 2 partner charities, Derian House Children's Hospice and Guide Dogs UK. They started in Morecambe and finished 3 days later in Bridlington, traveling 170miles. It was a grueling bike ride that took them through some wonderful scenery, through Lancashire, across the Pennines and into Yorkshire. Fortunately, the weather was on their side so in-between the long rides they were able to enjoy these views and even managed to get some great pictures of their journey.

The ride was split into 3 stages, starting in Morecambe for the first stage which took them to Skipton. The following day they rode onto York and finally on the last day finished in Bridlington. Of course, it was not all plain sailing for our brave cyclists who did have some bike issues and muscles cramps. We had however planned for this and would like to say a massive thank you to Westwood Motor Group for supplying a support vehicle for this challenge where we kept repair kits and when any #teamlink member was struggling they could take a seat and have a rest before they were ready to go again.

We would also like to thank everyone who supported our riders on this challenge. This support helped keep them going when it got tough, as did the knowledge they were completing this to raise money for our charities. This brings us round to a very important part of all this, how much was raised. I have to say we are amazed by the amount that has been donated for these 2 wonderful causes through this fundraising challenge. The grand total is a massive £9000! Your generosity shown to raise this amount is unbelievable! This money will make a big difference for both our charities and so many people's lives who they affect. We are so very proud of everyone who took part or donated money.

Barry said the following about the experience and the money raised.
'Dear friends and colleagues,
Can I personally thank you all for supporting me and #teamlink in completing the Way of the Roses Cycle Ride. A massive £9k was raised for Charity and without all your support this would not have been possible. All the team enjoyed the ride and we had perfect weather. I am really blown away with all your generosity!'
