Last week at Link, we had a raffle to raise money for a charity that we are involved with every year over Christmas. This charity is the Storehouse Project. Each year at Christmas they make Christmas Hampers for people who need them in the local area. Our raffle this year raised a massive £1400 which was all used to pay for food, toiletries and toys for these hampers. As you can see from the pictures we managed to fill a van full of all this! There were Christmas chocolates, sweets, biscuits, plenty of food and so many toys for all ages. the amount raised was split roughly 50-50 between the food and the toys allowing Link to give as much as possible!
This van full was delivered just this morning to the Storehouse Project and with the help of 2 #teamlink members in Gavin Parkinson and Lucy Sharratt was unloaded. They didn't stop there though, at Link we really do pride ourselves on how much we help our and other local communities and today we helped make those Christmas Hampers as well. So many hampers were made by #teamlink and everyone else who was there just today! We would like to give Christina Joshi a big thank you for helping to organise this with ourselves. The work done at the Storehouse Project is incredible and is really making a difference to so many families.
The hampers consisted of plenty of food, toiletries and presents for the kids and are being handed out by the Storehouse Project to hundreds of families that are struggling at Christmas. The families can be big or small and are any age, they really do try to help everyone!
